I am a German-South African writer and actor who lives and works between Berlin and Cape Town, writing in my native languages, German and English. Embodying stories as an actor taught me the power of writing that is designed to leave the page.
In 2015, I co-wrote my first play, JUNG, GIFTIG UND SCHWARZ, with Amina Eisner, followed by CALL ME QUEEN in 2017. My comedy pilot OUT OF OPTIONS was nominated for Best Unproduced Series at the 2023 South African Writers Guild MUSE Awards and was invited to pitch at Talents Durban that same year. WINGSPAN, a pilot I co-wrote, premiered at the 2024 Series Mania Festival. My short film THE INVITATION won Best Produced Short at the South African Writers Guild MUSE AWARDS.Since participating in the Netflix Writing Academy in 2023, I have been part of the resulting writers’ collective, POV Collective.BALLZ, a comedy series about testicular cancer I created in 2025 is currently in post production for the German broadcaster ZDF.I do not have a particular preference when it comes to form. Some stories want to be plays, some films and some can only be expressed as cute little poems. I let the story dictate which form it wants to take.If I'm honest, my urge to write often comes from a place of rage — rage at the state of the world, at oppression, capitalism, injustice, and drivers who refuse to use their indicators. But since no one has yet been able to guarantee me the existence of a blissful afterlife, I am at least equally devoted to laughter and banter. In other words: joy. Because really, what otherwise is the point?
